VLADIVOSTOK, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited a command post in the special operation zone, Russia"s defense ministry said on Monday.

This was his first public appearance since the failed mutiny by Wagner forces.

The ministry released a video showing Shoigu flying in a plane and then attending a meeting with military officers at a military headquarters in the special operation zone.

The minister reportedly listened to reports from Colonel General Yevgeny Nikiforov, the troops" commander, about the current situation on the frontlines.

Kremlin reached a compromise with Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner group, through the mediation of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on late Saturday.
